The Candy Texture Pack finally landed on the Xbox Store for “Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition” on Thursday. That wasn’t the only news to come out of 4J Studios though as the developer confirmed that it is now turning its full attention to “Minecraft: Xbox One Edition”, “Playstation 4 Edition” and “PS Vita Edition”.
Those interested in turning the world of “Minecraft” into a land of gingerbread golems, lollipop flowers and Jell-o Creepers can pick the Candy Texture Pack from the Xbox Store for $1.00 even. It even turns the moon into a giant chocolate chip cookie.
4J Studios has confirmed that Candy Texture Pack will be released alongside patch 1.06 for “Minecraft: Playstation 3 Edition”. No release date has been announced yet but the patch will also add support for the Natural Texture Pack.
The new feature-filled Title Update 14 and the bug fix release of Title Update 15/patch 1.05 took up much of 4J Studios resources. However, the studio has now confirmed that the main thing it is working on now is “Minecraft Editions for Xbox One, PS4 and PS Vita” in addition to the 1.06 patch.
4J Studios did tease all three in a picture of “Perfect Dark Rum” recently. You could clearly see a PS Vita handheld running the game in the picture with a monitor displaying a different image for the “Playstation 4 Edition” in the background. The obvious reason was to show the PS Vita is not playing “Minecraft” via the supported PS4 Remote Play feature.
“Minecraft: Xbox One Edition” and “PS4 Edition” are highly anticipated among fans of the game and not just because they want to play it on a new console. The next-gen version will include larger worlds, expanded multiplayer features and other still unspecified enhancements that come from using the more powerful machines with 16 times the memory of the PS3 and Xbox 360.
