Mindy McCready's boyfriend is dead after he shot himself at home Sunday night in Arkansas, Daily Mail reports Jan. 14. David Wilson, 34, was found in Heber Springs from a self-inflicted gunshot wound and immediately transported to a local hospital...he was pronounced dead.
Sheriff responded to an emergency call around 6:15 p.m. when it was learned McCready's longtime boyfriend allegedly committed suicide. It was in the same house that the country singer hid in the closet of when she was in a bitter dispute with her mother and step-father in December 2011 over custody of her son, Zander. She was battling drug addiction when he was in their custody. It's unknown if the boy is with her parents or in foster care.
Wilson is the father of Zayne -- the son he and McCready had last April.
Mindy McCready's brother, Joshua, said she's too upset to talk about the death right now. She's understandably shaken up. Relatives are reportedly looking after her.
It's unknown what drove Wilson to kill himself. No criminal charges have been filed and an investigation is ongoing.
