Mindy McCready ended her life exactly how her boyfriend ended his last month, with a gunshot wound to the head. McCready killed herself in the exact spot where David Wilson was found dead, on a porch in their home, according to Fox News live on Monday, Feb. 18, 2013.
Radaronline reports Monday that after Wilson’s suicide last month, McCready did an interview in which she described the horrible pain she was in from losing her soul mate. “He didn’t just touch my heart. He touched my soul. He was my soul mate,” McCready said on the “Today” show not long after Wilson’s death.
It was exactly 36 days after Wilson’s death that McCready apparently couldn’t take the pain anymore and opted to take her own life. She shot and killed her dog before killing herself, which seems to speak to the amount of pain and confusion that Mindy was experiencing before her death.
McCready was so despondent after the death of Wilson that her father, Tim, gave a statement to the court which detailed his daughter’s substance abuse and tried to have her children removed from her care. Her father said that she had stayed in bed for three weeks, she hadn’t bathed and she wasn’t taking care of the kids.
McCready was ordered into treatment, but she went in on Feb. 6, but then sent home on Feb. 8, to continue the treatment on an outpatient basis. There was some mystery around Wilson’s death and Mindy denied killing him due to rumors of his infidelity. She said she laid down next to him after he shot himself and begged him not to die. She said he just made “sounds” before died.
McCready shot and killed her dog before killing herself. In an eerie twist to this story, last month, the bullet that killed Wilson, was found in the dog’s mouth. McCready said that the bullet which killed her boyfriend was found by the dog and the canine picked it up in his mouth.
