Fans of country music singer Mindy McCready may have been shocked to learn she committed suicide after killing the family dog. For reasons that may never be understood, McCready decided the dog should also die.
While McCready was in a custody battle with her mother, her two children were in foster care. Recently ordered by a judge to enter a rehabilitation center to help her with an alcohol issue, as well as seek treatment for mental illness, it is reported that McCready was allowed to leave in just 18 hours.
Readers may recall that McCready’s boyfriend, David Wilson, had committed suicide in January, 2013. Wilson was the father of Cindy McCready’s son Zayne, who is just 9 months. Her older son Zander, who is six, is the son of Billy McKnight.
In 2004 McCready was placed on three years probation after being found with OxyContin, for which she did not have a prescription. In 2005 the singer was arrested for driving drunk. She then reportedly overdosed twice and faced drug charges.
Fans will take little comfort in the thought that McCready may have felt troubled following the loss of her boyfriend, David Wilson, following his suicide.
