Mindy McCready was put to rest in her hometown of Ft. Myers, Fla. on Feb. 26, according to People magazine; just nine days after she shot the family dog before committing suicide at her lakefront home in Herber Springs, Ark. McCready was carried in a wooden casket by a white hearse with two police escorts as over four hundred onlookers came to pay their respects at Crossroads Church.
The wooden casket with adorned with white roses while a large portrait of the country singer provided a backdrop. Mindy’s songs were played as old photos were shown on projection screens on either side of the casket. The pallbearers included McCready’s three brothers; Timothy, Joshua, and Colton, as well as some of her cousins.

A second ceremony will be held in Nashville, Tenn. in early March.
