Mindy McCready denies responsibility for the death of her boyfriend who died of a gunshot wound Jan. 13. "I have never gone through anything this painful," the 37-year-old "Ten Thousand Angels" country music singer said. "He didn't just touch my heart, he touched my soul. He was my soul mate."
David Wilson, who was not only McCready's boyfriend but also the father of her 9-month-old son Zayne, died of a reported self-inflicted gunshot wound, and there are no current suspects. However, the case is still under investigation in the record producer's unfortunate death. "I just started screaming, calling 911. I laid down next to him and just pleaded with him not to die," said McCready.
Rumors allegedly exist that Wilson was having an affair. In addition, apparently the bullet used in the shooting wasn't found until the next day because McCready claimed her dog had it in its mouth.
If McCready, who currently is not a suspect, is found to have anything at all to do with the death of Wilson, it could more than likely put an end to a career already damaged by past activity. The once promising country music singer has dealt with substance abuse and even appeared on "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew." She has dealt with reported domestic abuse and she has apparently attempted suicide more than once. In addition, there have been other unfortunate reports, such as an alleged affair with Roger Clemens.
