Mindy McCready's official Facebook page has confirmed tonight February 17 the country singer is deceased. McCready has been a tortured soul for some time and her troubles sadly played out in the public eye. On January 25, 2013 McCready took to her Facebook page and wrote "On a cold dark cloud, with nowhere to fall but down, like a single, naked, unrelenting tear... I'm still here." Just four days later on January 29 Mindy appeared on Dateline NBC to talk about her boyfriend David Wilson's death and allegations of murder. Mindy also went on the Today Show and offered a preview of the interview.
The Cleburne County Sheriff’s Office gave a statement to the media earlier this evening. The statement said that after being dispatched to McCready's home in Heber Springs, Arkansas about 3:30pm Sunday afternoon they found McCready's body on her front porch at 3:58pm and "McCready was pronounced dead at the scene from what appears to be a single self-inflicted gunshot wound." The prepared statement went on to say that McCready will be "transported to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy and the matter will be fully investigated."
