According to E! News, Country singer, Mindy McCready was found dead in Heber Springs, Ar. earlier tonight. A family friend confirmed McCready died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Alongside McCready was her dog, which also died from a gunshot wound.
McCready had been on a downward spiral since the death of her 34-year-old boyfriend, David Wilson a little over a month ago.
David Wilson died on Jan. 13, 2013 from an alleged self-inflicted gunshot wound at his home in Heber Springs, Ar.
Many question Wilson’s death as a suicide. Family members and friends believe foul play was the cause of Wilson’s death. One family member stated that Wilson was still planning for the future and that he was to receive an inheritance Feb. 1, 2013. Others talk about how he had checked into a hotel with the intentions of leaving McCready shortly before his death.
McCready denied any involvement with Wilson’s death and was never confirmed as a suspect.
Shortly after Wilson’s death, both of McCready’s children, Zander 6, and Zayne 9-months-old were taken from her by authorities.
After McCready’s children had been taken she was committed at an in-patient facility for treatment.
McCready’s father said, "Since boyfriend (David Wilson) shot himself she has been in bed for three weeks. She sleeps all day, drinks all night and is taking Rx drugs. Not bathing or even helping take care of her two children."
McCready had attempted suicide two other times, once in 2005 and once in 2008.
McCready was born on Nov. 30, 1975. She recorded five studio albums, including her debut album Ten Thousand Angels in 1996. McCready gained notoriety back in 2008 when her relationship with Roger Clemens was made public.
Our sincere condolence goes out to McCready’s friends and family.
