In news that shocked the nation the national news outlets have announced that Mindy McCready has committed suicide. The 37 year-old singer died Sunday night. Her brother confirmed the to the Daily News.
Andrea Canning, a reporter for NBC Dateline, told the Daily news that, “Just got a call from Mindy McCready's best friend that she shot and killed herself this evening. My heart breaks for her two boys. RIP”.
The country singer had been experiencing a rough patch her father Tim McCready had been staying with her until earlier this morning when he returned to his Florida home. Tim McCready told E that when he left, she was in good spirits and seemed to be fine.”
Neighbors later heard gunshots and called the police. Sources say that McCready shot the dog and herself. Just over a month ago McCready’s boyfriend David Wilson died. His death is currently under investigation and cause of death is still unknown.
The singer’s two young children were taken from her home shortly after David’s death, though the singer claims she had nothing to do with his death. Other news sources speculated that David died of an apparent suicide.
