We don’t need to run anymore. To enjoy sitting in the present moment. Healing, non-action, if we sit peacefully whenever the feeling of wanting to run away arises, then the energy of running away is not. It loses a little bit of power and we produce faith, energy, mindfulness and concentration. We realize our true home is already filled with power.
This is the practice of joy and of love. We can practice things easily when we have the healing energy of mindfulness. Even when there is rain we can smile at the rain, breathing in, breathing out. Don’t say because there are thorns you cannot be happy. Don’t say that because there is anger and sadness in your heart, you cannot enjoy anything at all. You have to know what is real and what is true so you don’t lose the flowers of joy.
Every time you take one mindful step, you have a chance to go from happiness from sorrow. Doing this we overcome our pain and cross over. Don’t just hope for the other healing shore to come to you. If you want the other shore of happiness to come to you, the shore of safety, well-being, non-fear and non-anger, you have to swim or row across. You have to return to yourself and practice mindful breathing and feel liberation. -Thich Nhat Hahn.
