Mimicking Birds Make Midwest Stop

Mimicking Birds upcoming bi-coastal tour will, fortunately, include a stop in Chicago. On their self-titled album released in 2010, the Portland, Oregon based ensemble wooed their fans with the dreamy themes of 'Pixel', 'Rivers, Veins and Roots' and 'Burning Stars.' Nate Lacy, Aaron Hanson, Ian Iuxton, Matthan Minster and Adam Trachsel have been busy since then with major fests like Lollapalooza.

Overall, the band's meditative compositions are rife with buoyant melodies and compelling, repetitive glitches. You can count on Lacy's velvet vocals to be framed by whispering harmonies and warm strumming. But don't let the shimmering ambience distract you from the poignant lyrics that demand attention. Mimicking Birds will release their sophomore album, "Eons" in May but the buzz has already begun. In fact, the lead single has racked up almost 9000 amazing listens since its Stereogum debut.
