On Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 10th and 11th a multitude of colorful and strange shapes will float over Milwaukee. They’re not UFO’s, but kites, thousands of them in brilliant colors and shapes of sea horses, fish, geckos, and beautiful butterflies and lots of other swell designs that will fill the lakefront sky over Veterans Park.
Everything kicks off on Saturday at 12 noon with the launch of 600 colorful kites floating gracefully into the air. Kite pilots from around the Midwest and Canada will be on hand to strut their stuff with their kites.

Artist and kite maker Ron Gibian from California will demonstrate what goes into making a champion kite. You won’t starve at MOTS you can nosh on Johnsonville brats, Nathan’s hot dogs or a slice of Palermo’s pizza.
