Not only can you participate in this years fest but you can do so for no charge. Milwaukee Film is accepting films with no submission fees for the festival this year. According to Milwaukee Film’s Artistic and Executive Director Jonathan Jackson, “We want filmmakers to save their money for filmmaking. They should put that $100 into their next film.”

2011’s edition of the Milwaukee Film Fest showcased 177 films from 44 different countries. In attendance at last years’ fest was noted cinematographer Vilmos Zsigmond who screened two selected works: “Close Encounters of the Third Kind” and “The Rose”. Last years crowds broke festival attendance records and with new features this year like The Milwaukee Youth Show expect even more to turn out.

If you are a Milwaukee filmmaker, you cannot pass up this opportunity to have your film showcased at the Milwaukee Film Fest. Along with the free entry, Milwaukee filmmakers can win a prize package of valuable film supplies, services and more. The winner of the Cream City Cinema award also get the next film featured in the fest’s Milwaukee Show program.
