Milwaukee Day Trips: Last Call for Snow at Sunburst

Believe it or not, spring is right around the corner. That means that the number of snow-covered days seen by Southeastern Wisconsin is waning. Take advantage of the final waves of winter weather with a short day trip to Sunburst Ski Area for some late season powder. It may not be the Alps but located 45 minutes northwest of Milwaukee, Sunburst is as close as you can get.

Sunburst has something for everyone, from bunny hills to black diamonds. There is also a tubing area with twelve 900 ft. long chutes that allow you to reach speeds of up to 40 miles per hour. There is even a magic carpet that takes you from the bottom of the hill back up to the top when you want to go back for more but don't feel like making the climb. For you snowboarders, a terrain park with a tow rope will keep you entertained until you break one of your limbs.

Sunburst will be open for as long as they can keep making snow. That is usually until mid-March. Rates and hours vary depending on the day of your visit and the season. The address is:
