Since 1976, Walleye Weekend has been an annual event, promoting the Mercury Marine National Walleye Tournament. More than 800 volunteers ensure that this three-day festival is a success each year. This free event attracts more than 100,000 visitors annually; which makes it the second largest festival in the state of Wisconsin. Held always on the weekend of the second Sunday of June, the attractions include fishing tournaments; endless food options; three music stages; and several sporting events that include an 8 mile bike ride, a choice of a 5, 2, or 1 mile run/walk; a volleyball tournament and more. Familyland ensures that the little ones avoid boredom with its kid-friendly entertainment and bounce houses.
The wide variety food and beverages for purchase at Walleye Weekend are sold by local civic organizations. This ensures that the money stays in the Fond du Lac community, which helps make improvements to the area and ensure that the festival carries on each year.
The hours for Walleye Weekend are as follows:
Friday, June 7 - 3 p.m. until 10:30 p.m.
Saturday, June 8 – 8 a.m. until 10:30 p.m.
Sunday, June 9 – 8 a.m. until 6 p.m.
