Hank the Ballpark Pup, the latest canine celebrity, is being honored with the BobbleHank, according to an announcement by the Milwaukee Brewers on March 27, 2014.
Attached is a photo slideshow of Hank, the new mascot for the Milwaukee Brewers.
Hank is the darling white Bichon Frise mix who was smart enough to stray onto the field during the Brewers' spring training in Phoenix, Arizona on Feb. 17. The pup wandered onto the baseball field and stole hearts, eventually landing a cushy gig as the Brewers' mascot.
The Brewers searched for the dog's owner, but when the owner could not be located, they adopted him and took him home to Millwaukee. Hank arrived in Milwaukee on March 16, the same day that a line of "Hank" merchandise was launched, with 20% of the proceeds donated to the Wisconsin Humane Society through the Hank Fund.
Hank reportedly lives at the home of a Brewers executive when he is not busy motivating the team.
Hank, the “Ballpark Pup,” will be the ninth Bobblehead to be given away to all-fans as part of a Wisconsin Humane Society Day on Saturday, Sept. 13 at Miller Park. The Brewers take on the Cincinnati Reds that evening at 6:10 p.m. Tickets to the game are available through Brewers.com, at the Miller Park Box Office and by calling 414-902-4000.
The Brewers will donate a portion of the ticket sales to the Wisconsin Humane Society’s “Hank Fund” to benefit stray animals, a worthy cause benefitting animals less fortunate than Hank.
