Reports indicate that there was a shooting near a Navy base in Millington Tenn. Thursday. At least two people were shot, but they are said to be in non-critical condition. WMC shared the available details on Oct. 24.
At this point, it appears that the Millington Navy Base was put on lockdown, though the shooter is said to be in custody. Available details indicate that the Navy base shooter may have been a disgruntled employee who was let go earlier Thursday.
WREG shares that the shooter reportedly left after being fired, then returned with a gun. A shelter in place order was given to the base as the authorities sort through the details. Multiple ambulances are at the scene. WREG also shares that the emergency crews apparently were responding to an address that is listed as the Army National Guard recruiting center.
Few other details are known as of yet, though more information about the Millington shooting should become available shortly.
