The duo that ambushed two Las Vegas police officers yesterday, before turning weapons on themselves, had “militia” or “white supremacist” type ideology according to Las Vegas Metro police investigators.
Reminiscent of the 2009 crime that killed four Lakewood, Wash., police officers having coffee before their shift, Las Vegas Metro police officers Igor Soldo and Alyn Beck were gunned down while on lunch break at a Cici's Pizza late Sunday morning, June 8.
Jerad Miller, 31, one of the assailants, left a “Don’t Tread on Me” flag and a swastika on the body of one of the officers and on the other a note which said, “This is the beginning of the revolution.”
Miller’s 22 year-old-wife, Amanda, was the second shooter. The couple who moved to Las Vegas in January are thought to have acted alone. Media sources have linked the Millers to the Cliven Bundy "ranch standoff incident" that took place earlier in the year.
Jerad Miller was no stranger to law enforcement with felony convictions in Washington State and Indiana.
The investigation into the motivation for the shooting continues, however initial findings indicate the murderous couple thought that law enforcement was the “oppressor.”
