Military history buffs have the opportunity to relive the period from the American Revolution through the Civil War at The Encampment being held at Century Village at Fryer Park in Grove City, Ohio on Saturday, June 7 and Sunday, June 8. Grove City is approximately a 2.5 hour drive from Cleveland.

The Encampment Presented by the Southwest Franklin County Historical Society and the city of Grove City, The Encampment event will consist of a troop encampment, a field hospital and a one room school and furnished log home at Century Village.

Activities will include soldiers performing military drills. Visitors will be able to learn how to discharge black power rifles, throw a tomahawk and even get to taste hardtack.

The Encampment will also present live musical entertainment ( Civil War music) provided by musician and historian Steve Ball.

Hours for The Encampment are 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday. Admission is free but it is requested that you bring a donation for the local food pantry.
