Miley in flux

When the restarted Bangerz Tour arrives at the Nassau Coliseum next month, British popster Lilly Allen will be the opening act. Adding the Reggae-ish Allen to any show is always a plus. But is Miley’s choice a sign of something else?

Allergies, IPop and Miley’s oyster

First, the Bangerz Tour was on…but then needed to be rescheduled. Miley Cyrus reportedly had an allergic reaction to medication, but questions lingered about the veracity of her statements owing to such a drawn out recovery. Chart toppers Icona Pop and the sometimes counter-culturist Sky Ferreira were on board for Bangerz and now Coliseum goers will be treated to the ever lovely Lilly Allen. It seems the only thing constant about Miley Cyrus lately is change.

Sometimes you have to wonder if all is well in camp Miley. The blunt smoking ex-Disney kid remains immensely popular on a number of continents and is making money faster than daddy Billy Ray or mommy Tish can count. Naturally, being able to add smash mega-hit makers Icona Pop to the bill, along with Sky Ferreira and Lily Allen, says something about Miley’s incredible industry influence. The world is her oyster. Or so it seems.

Sassy, Sir Paul and lots of cash

When Miley announced Allen would be joining her on the road for seven shows, gossip blog king Perez Hilton called the move “sassy and saucy.” Oh really? In that case, why is IPop returning to the Bangerz tour for the remainder of Cyrus’s concerts? Is it a simple matter of availability, regarding the mixing and matching of performers-perhaps?

When Paul McCartney recently cancelled a number of dates due to an unspecified virus, nobody questioned the “Let It Be” Beatle crooner. However, when Miley Cyrus postponed her concerts earlier this year due to an extreme allergy, the issue did not immediately go away. Nevertheless, Miley looks to have made a full recovery and is better than ever. Will that put an end to her unrest? The answer is, probably not. But you cannot be too hard on Miley considering she is laughing all the way to the bank.
