Pop singer and former “Hannah Montana” Disney star Miley Cyrus continues to shed her innocent image big-time with her latest video which is already breaking records in the music business, according to CBS News on Tuesday.
Cyrus video “Wrecking Ball” has set a new Vevo viewing-record as Cyrus goes to the edge, displaying the vision-laden talents of the 20-year-old singer and actress. In fact, the record she broke includes the data that 12.3 million persons viewed her new video on Vevo in 24 hours.
The previous record for Vevo views in a 24-hour period was set by One Direction for their video of “Best Song Ever” which had 10.9 million Vevo views in its first 24-hours about two months ago. Prior to that, Cyrus’ video of “We Can’t Stop” held the record with 10.7 million views when it was released in June.
The song “Wrecking Ball” is the second single release from Cyrus’ yet-to-be-released album “Bangerz,” which is slated to be released on Oct. 8. Part of her promotion involves a “Saturday Night Live” appearance on Oct. 5 when she will be the musical guest as well as the host.
