It was only a matter of time before the professionals from FOX’s “So You Think You Can Dance” trashed Miley Cyrus’ VMA twerking tragedy on Tuesday night’s episode. With twenty minutes left in the two-hour show, executive producer and judge Nigel Lythgoe criticized the controversial MTV performance.
The final six dancers began the night paired with SYTYCD all-stars, however as the episode drew to a close, the contestants reunited, to partner with each other. When the dynamic duo, Fik-Shun and Amy, performed their hip-hop routine, Nigel Lythgoe compared Amy’s twerking to Miley Cyrus’ VMA exhibition.
It just goes to show, you don’t have to put it in someone’s face to be sexy…Miley Cyrus.
The audience erupted in applause, shock and laughter. “So You Think You Can Dance” guest judge, Jesse Tyler Ferguson of “Modern Family”, added to Nigel’s Miley rant when speaking to Fik-Shun and Amy.
Fik-Shun, your solo erased everything that happened with Miley twerking; I was cleansed. I now like twerking again from that (referencing the hip-hop routine with Amy).
The Miley Cyrus rants didn’t end there. Prior to the commercial break, SYTYCD host, Cat Deeley, added a little poem of her own.
Twerking, when it’s working, is great!
Unfortunately, after all of the laughter over Miley Cyrus’ VMA striptease had subsided, two dancers had to go home and “So You Think You Can Dance” let go Hayley and Paul.
The top four competing for the “So You Think You Can Dance” Season 10 Title next Tuesday are Fik-Shun, Amy, Aaron and Jasmine.
