Miley Cyrus will be hosting and performing on the 39th season of Saturday Night Live, according to a September 9 report by PerezHilton. Despite, or possibly because of, what has been a crude and very raunchy performance at the MTV Video Music Awards, Cyrus has been asked to host the second episode of the upcoming season. Having Cyrus on SNL is a sure way to draw the younger audience, who tend not to tune in on a regular basis.
The SNL season opener will feature Tina Fey with the musical guest Arcade Fire. Week two features Miley Cyrus both as the host and musical guest. Surely she will have no problem making fun of her recent MTV performance. Week three will be Bruce Willis with Katy Perry. With a must-see lineup like this, hopefully there will be a popularity resurrection for the long-running sketch comedy show.
This news comes right on the heels of rumors that Cyrus will not be featured on the cover of Vogue. According to USA TODAY, Cyrus' December cover has been cancelled because Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief for the fashion magazine, did not approve of the lewd MTV performance.
