On Wednesday morning, Billboard previewed their Hot 100 chart and Miley Cyrus stayed on top for a second week with "Wrecking Ball." Despite making huge gains in airplay, former superstar Lady Gaga drops to number 8 with her pretentious semi-hit "Applause."
There have been many whispers of huge payments going to radio stations in order to put "Applause" in top rotation. A couple weeks ago, the song was literally dead on radio. But the money (allegedly) came in and suddenly, "Applause" went into heavy rotation. We believe this happened because Lady Gaga has already proven to rise to the depths of desperation in order to top the charts.
In other bad news for Lady Gaga, her former best friend Perez Hilton has posted pictures on Twitter with Madonna and himself. It's the type of thing that most people would laugh at, but Lady Gaga probably considers it a slap in the face or even a shot in the head. We can't wait to see what the former star desperately tweets next. Perhaps she doesn't have time to tweet since she is re-recording her album ARTPOP to make it more commercial friendly.
