Miley Cyrus has been awarded the lead performer spot at the 2013 American Music Awards. The provocative display that she put on for the MTV Video Music Awards apparently didn’t bother the folks voting on the 19 artists up for this spot. The announcement was made today, Oct. 10, according to Yahoo Music.
Cyrus beat out 19 other performers for the AMA 2013. She is not a top album seller and while she has a good voice, there are certainly many other performers whose distinct voice plows right over the former Disney kid. Cyrus has pretty much given the public expectations of what they will see from her at the AMAs. Most will expect a skimpy outfit with provocative moves after the VMA show.
Lady Gaga was notorious there for a while for outdoing herself every time she was appearing at one of the music awards. It was probably her meat dress and raw meat accessories that will be her most memorable appearance.
Miley’s appearance at the MTV VMAs was certainly a memorable performance. Was this the one she’ll be remembered for or is she about to outdo herself at the 2013 AMAs?
The American Music Awards will be held Sunday, Nov. 24, at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. ABC will carry the telecast, which is being produced by Dick Clark Productions.
