Are they are aren't they engaged was the question on Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth fans minds this week as she was spotted without her engagement ring. Miley takes to Twitter to set the record straight,
"I am so sick of La. And sick of the lies that come with it," she posted. "I didn't call off my wedding. Taking a break from social media. #draining"
The ring in question is a 3.5 carat diamond "hand-cut around 1880 or 1890 and it's unique and in its original form. At that time no two diamonds were alike, as they were all hand-cut, so it's fascinating to look at because it hasn't been re-cut to look contemporary over the years. I find that really romantic," said celebrity jeweler Neil Lane. He continues in his interview with People "that Hemsworth wanted "something really beautiful and romantic" for his soon-to-be bride. The ring, which has a vintage feel, was handcrafted in 18-karat gold and is garnished with diamond floral patterns."
However, after being seen with the ring off, Cyrus tweets this picture and yep, it's right there in all it's 3.5 carat glory. However, the claims are that the ring was being fixed.
The couple met while working together on "The Last Song," and rumors about their on again off again relationship have been around for a long time. The strongest seem to center around Hemsworth's "cheating." Different work schedules, personalities and lots of travel including Hemsworths recent planned trip to Australia to visit his family probably don't help the young couple either.
