Miley Cyrus opened up about her recent whirlwind media blitz. In an Oct. 26 interview with Cosmopolitan, the songstress discussed the importance of having the support of other stars and the reception of her infamous MTV VMA performance. Additionally, Miley Cyrus also opened about being recently single.
The interviewed coincides with Miley’s latest cover for Cosmopolitan, and is well timed considering the recent media hysteria about the sexy young singer. One of the most telling parts of the interview was her feelings on how society views her latest persona.
Everything is so chaotic and crazy right now and it’s so much all at once, but I’m living for it. I'm just having the best time ever and everything’s falling into place like it’s supposed to. Even people who want to hate on me, they can’t even shut down the fact that I’m literally what everyone is talking about. I don’t want to say that I’m on top right now – I feel like I’m kind of an underdog in a cool way. It’s almost punk rock to like me because it’s not the right thing to do. Like, society wants to shut me down." Miley Cyrus during her Cosmopolitan interview.
Miley indicated that she greatly valued the support of her fellow musical artists. When asked what other celebrities have supported her, the songstress cited Kanye West and Katy Perry as being sources of strength during the intense media scrutiny she has received.
The support of other artists is important because there are not many people who can relate to what I’m going through right now.” - Miley Cyrus
When asked how she was adjusting to being newly single, Miley stated she was intent on focusing on her music and treating it likes “a relationship”. This is not surprising given she will be busy with a new “Bangerz” tour.
This is the best time of my life. I’m not going to look back on it and be like, ‘I wish I hadn’t been dwelling over a breakup,’ you know? Because that’s not what God wants my life to be about right now.” - Miley Cyrus
What do you think about Miley opening up? Will her continue media exposure cause people to become desensitized to her antics or will it fuel the fire?
