Cyrus released the original "Wrecking Ball" music video earlier this month, which saw her swinging naked on an actual wrecking ball and making out with a sledgehammer. When that was not going down, she was breaking down in front of the camera while singing the heartbreaking ballad.
For the director's cut, controversial fashion photographer Terry Richardson leaves out the wrecking ball, sledgehammer and slight nudity. He instead just focuses on a one-shot take of Cyrus' face as she gives an emotional performance of "Wrecking Ball." It's a much more safe-for-work take on the video.
The original "Wrecking Ball" became the most viewed video in VEVO in a 24-hour period and later aided Cyrus in netting her first no. 1 on Billboard's Hot 100. Her big exposure as of late also landed her the cover of Rolling Stone magazine. Another music video with Cyrus also was released today, Mike Will Made It's "23" with Wiz Khalifa and Juicy J.
Cyrus' "Bangerz" album will be released on October 8.
