Miley Cyrus has been in the news a lot recently due to her highly controversial MTV performance and photos sans clothes for Rolling Stone. Now she has come forward with her love of marijuana, which is certain to keep the former Disney Hannah Montanna star in the entertainment headlines for awhile. The New York Daily News reported on Sept. 27, 2013, "Miley Cyrus admits marijuana use: ‘Weed is the best drug on earth’"
Cyrus spoke a great deal about her use of recreational drugs during her recent interview for Rolling Stone magazine. She commented in the interview, "weed is the best drug on earth." She sent on to say other drugs such as cocaine and MDMA, also known as molly, don't really compare to marijuana. Cyrus has been quoted as saying, "Hollywood is a coke town, but weed is so much better."
ABC has reported, "Miley Cyrus Reveals Details of Her Drug Use." Cyrus has been talking a lot recently about how she experiments with drugs. Aside from expressing her intense attraction to marijuana use she has also said she smokes cigarettes.
Well, lot of people who have experimented with these drugs develop a health consciousness about them and often choose to quit using them before they get sick or even die from them.
WebMD has reported marijuana is possibly unsafe when it is taken by mouth or smoked. This drug is still classified as an illegal substance.
WebMD also writes that use of marijuana can cause vomiting, dry mouth, nausea, dry or red eyes, heart and blood pressure problems, lung problems, headache, dizziness, numbness, panic reactions, hallucinations, flashbacks, depression, impaired mental functioning, and sexual problems.
Drugabuse.com reports that cocaine use can lead to a heart attack, even in people who are very young or otherwise healthy. Large amounts of cocaine may lead to erratic and possibly even violent behavior. Cocaine users might also have tremors, muscle twitches, paranoia, and vertigo along with lowered sexual function. And cigarettes have been absolutely confirmed in many studies to cause lung cancer and a myriad of other very serious health problems.
So, in the best interest of the health of Miley Cyrus, her fans, and others let's hope the message comes through that she and others who use recreational drugs and who smoke cigarettes are actually playing Russian roulette with their lives on a moment by moment basis. It would be really sad to read the headlines one morning that Cyrus was found dead in a hotel room from a drug overdose, which happens all too often in Hollywood and elsewhere.
