During an Oct. 8 interview with Access Hollywood, Priestly was asked about how he'd feel if his 6-year-old daughter wanted to wear a Miley costume for Halloween. "I’d be a little torn on that," he said. "Like if she wanted to go as Hannah Montana, I’d say, 'Sure,' but to go as Miley Cyrus that would be indicative of… Umm yeah, I’d have a problem with that."
Maybe Hannah Montana Halloween costumes will also be pretty popular this year—those who aren't impressed with Miley's current state of undress might consider revisiting her more innocent days instead of wearing her horrifying MTV VMAs getup. However, Jason Priestly's daughter will be rocking a look that's way more creative than Miley Halloween costumes—she's going to be an adorable "zombie bunny." Taking a cute character and making it spooky is a pretty fun Halloween costume idea for kids, and the idea would also work with a Miley costume. Since Miley has killed off Hannah Montana, why not dress up like a zombie version of the popular Disney character?
Miley isn't the only pop culture icon who is influencing 2013 Halloween costume sales. According to The Huffington Post, other popular costumes include "Breaking Bad" costumes, "Duck Dynasty" costumes, and "Great Gatsby" costumes. The "Despicable Me" minions are extremely hot this year, and their simple pill shapes make them the perfect costume inspiration for babies who need to be swaddled up. The viral "What Does the Fox Say?" music video has made the simple fox costume a popular pick, and Batman is the big superhero who is in this year. The "Minecraft" game, "Game of Thrones" character Daenerys, and band Daft Punk make up the rest of Google's list of the top trending costumes searches for 2013.
So will you or your kids be rocking Halloween costumes inspired by Miley Cyrus or other pop culture figures this year?
