Miley Cyrus gets her birthday wish - Billy Ray Cyrus calls off his divorce - National celebrity infidelity

Billy Ray Cyrus has finally made his daughter, Miley Cyrus’s birthday wish come true – even if it is almost 4 months after the fact.

Miley’s birthday wish was for her parents to give their marriage another try.

In an MTV interview, as her 18th birthday approached last year, Miley expressed her wish that for her birthday on November 23rd she’d like nothing more than for her parents, Tish and Billy Ray – and the family as a whole - to be together again.

By officially calling off his divorce today on The View, , Billy Ray Cyrus has made Miley’s birthday wish come true.

Today, in his interview on The View, Billy Ray said,

“I dropped the divorce. I wanted to put my family back together.”

Why Miley Felt Responsible for her Parents’’ Divorce

The news that Billy Ray Cyrus had filed for divorce from his wife of 17 years, was followed by rumors that Miley’s mother, Tish cheated on Billy Ray with Bret Michaels during the time that Bret and Miley collaborated on a song. Word was that the Cyruses went from being loving partners and parents to business managers, devoting all their time and attention to Miley’s career, often forgetting to focus on each other as husband and wife.

Tish and Billy Ray were instrumental in making Miley the youngest woman, to ever make the Forbes “Highest Earners” list.

With earnings of $48 million, last year, Miley ranked #18 on Forbes annual list of Hollywood's 20 Highest Earners for 2010, and was the highest earning teenager in the United States.

However, family friends said that Tish and Billy Ray Cyrus were so involved in making Miley famous that once they’d achieved their goal, they had nothing to work towards anymore, and nothing to keep them together.

Miley Never Gave Up Hope that Her Parents Would Reconcile

Though Miley had never actually spoken out publicly about her parents upcoming divorce, she remained optimistic, and continued to hold on to the hope that her parents would resolve their problems and reconcile. See Miley Cyrus Breaks Her Silence on Tish and Billy Ray Cyrus Divorce

Speaking out for the first time about her family problems in an interview in the March issue of Marie Claire magazine, Miley said,

“Of course anyone is going to be upset when there are troubles in their family, but I have a lot of hope in our family, and no matter what happens, we’re gonna stay strong”

The Cyruses have always been a very close knit family. Billy Ray co-starred with Miley in the Hannah Montana series, and Tish Cyrus is Miley’s personal manager.

Since Miley’s family seems to be built on a very strong foundation, despite their problems, Miley never gave up hope.

Miley’s Anger Over Billy Ray Cyrus’s GQ Interview

But one of the most controversial things Billy Ray said was that the Disney series Miley starred in, drove a wedge between his family, and was largely responsible for destroying his marriage and contributing to his upcoming divorce. Because of this, Billy Ray went on to say that said he deeply regretted allowing Miley to star in the show, and said that he’d erase it if he could, make a very different choice, for the sake of having his family “safe and sound and happy and normal” again..

But Miley was deeply hurt by some of the things Billy Ray said, to the point that for a brief period of time she actually stopped speaking to the father with whom she was always so close.

Miley’s friends said that Miley, a very private person, felt betrayed by Billy Ray’s statements, compared him to Michael Lohan, and was appalled that he would discuss her personal life, and air the family’s “dirty laundry, ” in public.

Billy Rays appearance on the View today was primarily to promote his new album, “I’m an American.”

But during his interview Billy Ray took advantage of the opportunity to set the record straight regarding the remarks he made about the Hannah Montana series destroying his family.

In clarifying his comments which shocked and angered his daughter, Miley, Billy Ray told Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Sherri Shepherd that it wasn’t the popular Disney series itself that caused the problems in his family, but the resulting fame which tore the family apart.

The Cyrus Family is Now on the Mend

Now, having officially called off his divorce, Billy Ray’s focus is on working through his family problems with his wife, Tish, and his daughter, Miley.

He says the family is working hard on the healing process together, and communicating with each other in a way that they haven’t done in a long time.

For the Cyrus family, it seems the healing process is well underway.

It may be a bit late, but no doubt, Miley Cyrus very happy that Billy Ray Cyrus finally granted her birthday wish.
