Miley Cyrus appears on Saturday Night Live and records a new version of ‘We Can’t Stop’ in response to the government shutdown with ‘We Did Stop.’ The video segment portrays Cyrus as a provocative Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) and Taran Killam as an out of control leotard wearing Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-Ohio).
Both are completely the opposite of what the two stars portrayed them, at least in the public eye. Twitter and various other social networking media have been a blaze ever since. Although the skit was clearly making fun of the two, Boehner and Bachmann, it was clear that Miley was also making fun of herself. Even though many have been on the fence since her notorious twerking performance on the MTV VMA’s a few months ago, again there was plenty of twerking going on here, with her Bachmann character groping and twerking Boehner throughout the video.
Even at one point in the video Cyrus’ Bachmann stuffs dollar bills in Boehner’s mouth.
No comment from the Boehner or Bachmann camp at this time, but you can be sure a statement will be forthcoming.
The bridge of the new song read:
"It's our party we can do what we want / It's our party we can say what we want / We can stop what we want / We can defund what we want,"
"If you're not ready for healthcare can I get a 'hell no?' "
