Teen queen Miley Cyrus is no doubt growing up - Spotted sun worshipping last week, Miley sported a new tattoo and just recently Miley was busted for fake baking at the UK.
"She came in and said she wanted to use a tanning bed and asked for my advice," Michelle Preston, the SunSeekers tanning bed assistant, told the Daily Mail. "I showed her the controls and put her on for nine minutes," she added.
The 17-year-old teen queen was spotted last week sun bathing in a hot, pink bikini but wanted an even darker glow and wasn't at SunSeekers to use the ever-popular spray tan systems, like VersaSpa.
The photo caption under Miley's tanning bed photo, showing the star entering and exiting the tanning bed room, said "Bronze me, beautiful", but Miley's style consultants may want introduce her to alternative options that have been deemed by some as healthier.
After a recent study ignited evidence that UV radiation from tanning beds caused mutations in mice, (proof the radiation is carcinogenic), the AP's Vincent Cogliano, also a conductor of the study, said, "People need to be reminded of the risks of sunbeds. We hope the prevailing culture will change so teens don't think they need to use sunbeds to get a tan."
In adition, organizations like the Skin Cancer Foundation and The American Cancer Society are also encouraging people to seek alternates like bronzing, tanning mists or self-tanning creams.

ughhh i hate this tanning bed crap. like respect your body. laying in a tanning bed is not healthy. i hope she along with the many other teens who fake and bake, have the worst skin ever when they get older.

Ya, use tanning creams and spray tans because slathering oneself with chemicals that cause the skin to change colors or that dye the skin is soooo much healthier than exposing the skin to light. Heaven forbid someone dose themself with a little vitamin D. You need UV light for the body to create Vitamin D. Sunscreens are full of toxic chemicals that enter your body and cause systemic problems. UV light in small and safe doses is perfectly healthy and necessary to good health.
Miley is stylish and successful... and if she wants a tan, I'm sure once or twice in the bed is not going to turn her into a tumor. OMG geez. **To the author of this crappy article: Get off your soapbox before you sound any more like my MOM!!** Go write a research paper on skin cancer or something. Leave style and celebrity up to the pros!
