Miley Cyrus burglars held: Jewelry and Maserati stolen, two suspects in custody

Miley Cyrus’ home was thieved by two burglars this week, but Los Angeles police now have two suspects in custody believed to be responsible for the crime. The pair of celebrity burglars are being held on suspicion of grand theft, breaking and entering, and possible other charges; they are thought to have stolen some of Miley Cyrus’ jewelry as well as her 2014 Maserati vehicle in late May. The Australian shares this Thursday, June 5, 2014, that an investigation into the incident is still ongoing, but law enforcement officials are confident they have apprehended the actual thieves.

While Miley Cyrus may be a hit celebrity with plenty of money and fame, that’s no excuse whatsoever to steal from her. California police released a press statement this week confirming that they now have two burglars held in the recent thieving of expensive jewelry — as well as a 2014 Maserati — from Miley’s home. The names of the two suspects have not been made public at this time, but it is known that a man and woman somewhere in their 20s were involved in the crime.

ABC News adds in their new report that video surveillance was used to capture the two suspects. Officers apparently recognized the pair while crossing a North Hollywood street this Thursday morning before taking the Miley Cyrus burglars into custody, currently held on the pending breaking and entering charges. It seems these two rookie crooks failed to take any precautions before their capture.

According to an announcement from spokesperson Sergeant Kyle Kirkman, the thieving duo is likely to be arrested soon over suspicion of grand theft auto and burglary. At this time, it looks like the two suspects were not friends with Miley or even knew the celebrity singer on a personal level.

A Los Angeles police report was filed towards the end of May after Miley Cyrus learned that the burglars managed to scale a fence outside of her San Fernando Valley home before breaking in. Miley was away from her residence at the time. It is suspected that both the “Party in the USA” star’s 2014 car, a mint Maserati, and her jewelry were taken. However, officials have not determined whether anything else was stolen, and are still investigating the crime.

In early June, Miley Cyrus’ car was found dumped in a deserted location of Simi Valley. No official comment from the celebrity’s public representative on the robbery or the burglars’ held in custody has been made quite yet.
