Miley Cyrus came in #5 and Kristen Stewart #7 on MTV News' 2009 Women of the Year list.
When it comes to teen queens, Miley Cyrus was a bit more important than Kristen Stewart in 2009, at least according to MTV News.
In a list that will be unveiled throughout the week, MTV News placed Miley Cyrus in the #5 slot of their list of Women of the Year, leaving slot #7 for The Twilight Saga: New Moon's Kristen Stewart.
Although she was on last year's #4 slot, Miley Cyrus still made the list this year because of the invitation she received to perform at one of President Barack Obama's inaugural shows, her cameo in the Sex and The City movie sequel, her very succesful singles "The Climb" and "Party in the USA," her now closed Twitter acount, and the controversy she faced because of her behavior and her age, among other reasons. She even said she has no interest in watching any of the Twilight movies.
Kristen Stewart, on her part, starred in the incredibly succesful Twilight sequel New Moon and was in was in the center of a worldwide whirlwind of press coverage and fan obsession. She was a huge hit at the MTV Movie Awards and Video Music Awards as well as at Comic-Con, filmed Eclipse (the third Twilight installment) and The Runaways, and weathered the never ending speculation about whether she and Twilight costar Robert Pattinson are or aren't a couple. That, and other reasons, made her MTV News' #7 Woman of the Year.

Kstew fan is a joke to me! K-stew is a moody chick who never smiles that happens to be part of a very successful movie franchise. That's her sole accomplishment to date within the entertainment industry. Miley, on the other hand, has many, many accomplishments under her belt. A highly successful TV show, 3 very successful movies, multiple platinum albums, wildly successful concert tours, Hannah Montana merchandize brand that sold up to 1 billion! and her own Merch line. That's just for starters! Then add in all the real and overblown controversy and you have someone well deserving of the #5 spot in this silly poll. Suck on that awhile Twilight freaks :)

The main different between Smiley and Kristen is that Miley went out of her way to court publicity (check all the red carpet shows, she will be the first to yack with Seacrest and his gang) and yet despite her efforts she only lands at number 5? Poor Kristen who seems to do her best to dodge the papz and still lands at number 7? Imagine if she is an attention seeker like Miley she be number 1, no doubt!
I'm sorry. Anyone who thinks Miley Cyrus has accomplished anything is just lying to themselves. HANNAH MONTANA is the one who should get #5, and even SHE doesn't deserve it. Anyone could have been Hannah Montana and Disney would still have made a mint - if you think otherwise you're just delusional! I'm not saying this because I'm a KStew fan (although I am), I say it because it's the truth. Miley Cyrus doesn't have the "X" factor - Disney's advertising team does! Once she loses the Hannah Montana label, she'll fade into oblivion 'cos she's really not that special.
miley may have had more of an "industry" (due to stupid hannah montana and disney) and may have accomplished a lot at a young age, BUT this year of 2009 i think she really wasnt as big as before. her hannah montana thing is dying because shes so "anti" disney now and wants to rebel so to speak. she says stupid things in interviews, makes terrible choices of clothing to wear at her shows and her new movie shes coming out with looks HORRIBLE. i think overall kristen had a bigger and better year than miley. miley has some maturing to do...

Miley is a very good singer, however, she is not a woman yet. Not even close. The things she says and her behavior are wacky. She wants to be older but acts like a 2 year old. Kristen is very much a mature intelligent young woman who will be someone I look forward to seeing her projects in the future.
Kristen is different from most Hollywood young actress. She is unique, and real. She is not an imbecile slut like Miley. Kristen is cool!
