It was an unfortunate accident when a member of the paparazzi got run down by a car and died when he was trying to take a photo of Justin Bieber's car yesterday. Now, Bieber and friend Miley Cyrus has spoken out blasting the paps for unsafe practices. Wetpaint posted Cyrus' reaction on Jan. 2 as she tweeted her unhappiness on the whole event and called them fools for creating such chaos.
The 20-year-old singer/actress took to her Twitter to say a few things on her mind. She wrote, "Hope this paparazzi/JB accident brings on some changes in '13 Paparazzi are dangerous! Wasn't Princess Di enough of a wake up call?!" The photographer was killed as he was trying to grab some pictures of Bieber’s Ferrari on Jan. 1 as it was pulled over by a police officer. Supposedly, the officer did tell the photographer to get back because it was unsafe. The “Boyfriend” singer was not even in the car at the time of the accident and was in no way involved. Cyrus has also had her share of the media and is now demanding that something be done about the paparazzi and their dangerous antics.
Justin Bieber later spoke out on the tragic accident. “While I was not present nor directly involved with this tragic accident, my thoughts and prayers are with the family of the victim." the 18-year-old said in a statement. “Hopefully this tragedy will finally inspire meaningful legislation and whatever other necessary steps to protect the lives and safety of celebrities, police officers, innocent public bystanders and the photographers themselves."
Cyrus also defended Bieber saying,"It is unfair for anyone to put this on to Justin's conscious as well! This was bound to happen! Your mom teaches u when your a child not to play in the street! The chaos that comes with the paparazzi acting like fools makes it impossible for anyone to make safe choices."
What do you think should be done about this? Do you think Miley Cyrus is right in saying that these photographers should stop their unsafe practices in getting that million dollar photo?
