Although Miley Cyrus has quite the reputation for her on stage antics, she hopped on Twitter today in hopes of clearing the air about a recent performance. The singer was poised to perform a full set at London's G.A.Y. Club when she took a break from her singing to engage in a full-on-rant. While she didn't address anyone by name in the rant, bloggers quickly began to speculate that the harsh words were directed at former fiancee, Liam Hemsworth.
While on stage Cyrus states, "Have fun while being in your car. And every time you get in your car, you're gonna hear my ****ing song on the ****ing radio, you piece of ****." And then she continues to boast about her music career and how she plans to hold the award for the most watched music video on Vevo. While web-based publications began to draw connections between her words and her past relationship, Cyrus felt compelled to address the controversy via her Twitter account in hopes of setting the record straight.
On May 13, Cyrus tweeted publicly, "just FYI what I said the other night at G.A.Y had nothing to do with Liam. I was just tryin to rile up the boys." Although this explanation directly addressed the rant, she continued to tweet about the situation by explaining that she was caught up in the moment, "I never want hateful things being said about those I care about… I was just tooooo turnttttt up."
