Miles Away 5K Run and Walk

As the leaves change, the air turns crisp, and the scents of cinnamon and spice infiltrate our homes, we are reminded that the holiday season is right around the corner. For most, this means pot luck dinners and gift exchanges surrounded by family and friends. But, for some it means crossing your fingers every time the mail comes, as you wait anxiously on letters from home.

The Miles Away 5K Run and Walk is on a mission: to encourage national awareness and respect for the sacrifices and struggles of American servicemen and women serving overseas, and to remember those who have lost their lives fighting for our country.

This 3.1-mile race is Sunday, Nov. 13 at 9:00 a.m. at Harbin Park. The trail run will start up the hill towards the water tower and finish on the right side of the parking lot. Click here to view a course map. A post-race ceremony to honor the fallen servicemen and women, including victims of the recent Chinook Crash will immediately follow.
