Denver’s famous MileHiCon delivered fun and entertainment to fans of science fiction and fantasy literature this past weekend October 18-20, 2013. The Hyatt Tech Center again hosted this legendary Denver con which happens to be Colorado’s oldest science fiction and fantasy convention. Although this even focuses on the literary genre, it offered a little something for everyone. Attendees of all ages came to get their geek on at the Hyatt Regency Denver Tech Center. There were panels with well known authors such as Seanan McGuire, Catherynne M. Valente, and illustrator Aaron Miller.
Attendees enjoyed hanging out with old friends and making new ones while participating in cosplay, gaming, a costume contest, an art show, and performances such as belly dancing. As with any sci-fi convention there was, of course, almighty dealer’s room for geeks to get their collectable fix on. There were plenty of booths on hand for fans to learn about other events and activities. One much booth was the popular The Geek Port where the podcasters were on hand to share their love of all things geek with hosts Heather Maloney, Thomas Maloney, and Aaron Carter. They even had a drawing with a very cool prize given away. All in all the Mile Hi Con brought smiles to Denver’s sci fi fans.
