The July Mile High Swappers homemade/homegrown/homebrewed food swap event will take place at West Washington Park Community Garden on Saturday, July 9th from 11am-1pm. Food swaps are a great way to share amazing homemade food and drinks while having an excellent time with like-minded people in the local community. Spaces are limited and participants may learn more about event sign-up at http://www.milehighswappers.com
Food swaps are fun and easy - participants bring a few homemade, homegrown, or homebrewed items to swap, and then bring home the same number of other people's carefully created goodies. In the spirit of being good food citizens, donations to food pantries are accepted at each swap.
“We are so excited to be holding a swap in Denver - especially at a community garden that manifests the values that we are pursuing with the swaps - building community and sharing with neighbors.” said Mile High Swappers founder, Eve Orenstein.
At the swap, participants have a chance to check out the products that other attendees have brought to swap, and let one another know they are interested in trading by signing up on their bid sheets. After some time spent sampling and kibitzing, the trading begins!
The only rules are that items be homemade, homegrown, or homebrewed, and that no cash exchanges hands.
