Milder temperatures in store for northwestern Pennsylvania this week (Video)

High pressure will slide across the region today and off to the east coast on Wednesday. Skies will be partly sunny this afternoon with highs topping out in the mid to upper 30s.

Tonight will be partly cloudy with overnight lows around 30 degrees.

Another partly cloudy day is on tap for Wednesday with highs moderating to the mid 40s.

A storm system is forecast to take shape across the southern Plains through mid week, then track northward through the Mississippi Valley late in the week. This system will bring moisture and milder air northward into the region beginning on Thursday.

Clouds will increase Thursday morning, with showers arriving late in the day. The high temperatures on Thursday will be in the low to mid 40s.

Rain is likely Thursday night and Friday as a warm front associated with the storm to our west lifts northward across the area. Lows Thursday night will fall to around 40 with highs on Friday climbing to the low 50s.

The system will move away on Saturday leaving a mild southwesterly flow in its wake. It will be mainly cloudy on Saturday and there could be a shower or two. Highs Saturday will reach the mid 50s.
