Hazardous Outlook:

A strong arctic front will move through the region tonight around midnight to 1am. This front will bring a strong NW wind change. Winds will gust to 40 mph at times dropping temperatures from near freezing to near 6 degrees by dawn. Light snow will accompany the cold front with around one inch of snowfall possible, a few isolated areas may see two inches. Winds of these magnitudes will cause more blowing and drifting snow through early tomorrow evening.

Wind chills Monday through Wednesday am will likely be as low as -37. Use caution when out doors and dress appropriately.

The following is the seven day forecast for the Dayton metro area and a 50 mile radius around it. Other metro areas like Columbus, Cincinnati, and Portsmouth are not included. For those areas please request a separate forecast. Thanks.

Tonight 1/26 - Mostly cloudy, scattered snow showers late. Blowing snow late. Becoming breezy. Winds SW 5 to 10 mph, becoming NW 15 to 25 mph with gust to 40 mph after midnight. Low 6. Wind chills as low as -15. Chance of snow 90%. Snowfall around an inch. (Isolated two inches in heavier bands)

Monday 1/27 - Mostly cloudy, a chance of scattered snow showers early then flurries mainly early, then partly sunny. Breezy. Wind NW 10 to 20 mph, gust to 30 mph. High 6 early falling to 0 by sunset. Wind chills as low as -20. Chance of snow 30%. Snowfall around a coating or less.

Mon night 1/27 - Partly cloudy. Winds W 5 to 15 mph. Low -10 to -15. Wind chills as low as -37.

Tuesday 1/28 - Partly sunny. Winds W 5 to 10 mph. High 5. Wind chills as low as -30.

Tues night 1/28 - Mostly clear. Winds W 5 mph. Low -9. Wind chills as low as -30.

Wednesday 1/29 - Mostly sunny. High 15.

Wed night 1/29 - Mostly clear. Low 7.

Thursday 1/30 - Partly sunny. High 30.
