Mild, breezy conditions start a workweek in Denver with ups and downs

The weather in Denver will once again be a bit of a mixed bag this week. We will see periods of mild temperatures, some wind, and a couple of chances for snow.

Kicking things off on Monday we do have some fog in a few areas and a Dense Fog Advisory in effect until 9:00 a.m. In all likelihood the fog will burn off before that time and once it does we will be left with partly sunny skies for the rest of the day.

Many factors at work that will be playing into how warm it gets today. Downslope winds are expected to develop and warm things up but we are also watching a colder air moving down from the north that could limit highs. For now we are going with a forecast high in the mid to upper 50s although it is possible we fall short of that.

Winds are expected to be increasing through the day, peaking by late afternoon into the evening. Gusts to 30 mph will be possible in the metro area.

Tuesday brings the first chance of a snow with a trough digging in coupled with a cold front.

Some flurries will be possible during the day tomorrow with the best chance for snow coming in the afternoon and early evening. Total accumulations in town look to be in the 1 to 3 inch range. High temperatures tomorrow will be cold as they top out in the mid-30s.

Temperatures then rebound nicely Wednesday and Thursday with highs in the low to mid-50s. Friday will be a bit cooler with temperatures reaching the mid to upper 40s.

Another system is expected to arrive Saturday and that will bring slight chances of snow through the weekend.
