Katy Perry and Rita Ora made their debuts at Milan Fashion Week. The popstars both walked the runway during the Fall 2014 collections. Designer Jeremy Scott uveiled his first collection for Moschino as creative director on Thursday. The two singers flew from London to Milan after a night of afterparties at the BRIT Awards.
The runway show featured quirky interpretations of McDonald's emblems for inspiration. Rita Ora wore a unique quilted leather purse shaped like a jacket. Katy Perry donned a tweed jacket with a skirt and a quilted purse. The pair both walked off the runway and took their seats front row after their big debut.
Jeremy Scott told Women's Wear Daily. “People look to celebrities and pop stars for inspirations, ever since Jean Harlow. “We were looking at Dynasty, not at Thierry Mugler, people always have. Sometimes there’s a new person — Miley, Rihanna, Katy — but it’s the same old story, just with new players. Emblematic people show us it’s OK to not wear pants with a jacket and people interpret that as they want. They interpret, without being clones. Imagine our pre-fall collection with the volume turned way up, radio up,” he said.
