Mike Tyson's resume, which reads like a tabloid story, includes world boxing champion, convicted rapist, ear biter, "Hangover" star and yes even Tony Awards singer. Mike just opened up at a press conference Saturday, saying he wants to turn his life around. Tyson, 47, claims he's on the verge of dying due to being a "vicious alcoholic". He told reporters, "I wanna change my life, I wanna live a different life now", according to The Hollywood Gossip on Sunday, Aug. 25.
Mike Tyson admitted to having spent three stints in failed rehab attempts. He said he's been living a lie, denying that he had a substance abuse problem.
Mike claims he's "six days sober", and hopes to continue staying off the sauce for the rest of his born days.
Meanwhile, the revelation comes on the heels of a story from Utica's Observer-Dispatch, which reported yesterday that the Brooklyn-born boxer stumbled upon a wedding party posing for pictures and invited himself to take part.
As Tyson was crossing the lawn at the Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, N.Y., he surprised newlywed couple Greg and Amber Keller as they were taking photos with their bridesmaids and groomsmen Friday evening.
The groom said "Iron Mike" Tyson posed with them for photographs, and then congratulated the happy couple on their wedding which he said was "extremely nice".
Tyson is infamous for biting off a piece of Evander Holyfield's ear during a boxing match, as well as for being convicted of sexually assaulting an 18-year-old beauty pageant winner in Indiana. His much publicized divorce from "Head of the Class" actress Robin Givens highlighted accusations of spousal abuse.
"Everybody’s got a different opinion on Mike Tyson, but despite what he’s done in his past, he seemed like a really, genuinely nice guy", Keller said.
You make the call.
