Mike Reilly can now add the Big Ten’s Third Star honors as he came off a four assist weekend versus Ohio State. Reilly leads all Big Ten defensemen in goals, assists, and points, and he had three assists on Friday night versus the Buckeyes.
The sophomore from Chanhassen, MN has twenty-eight points on the season which is a career high, stemming from eight goals and twenty helpers. Another fun fact: He ranks in the top seven nationally in all three of those categories.
Earlier in the season, Minnesota swept Michigan in Minneapolis, only allowing four goals in 5-3 and 4-1 victories from Feb 14-15, 2014.
The Gophers finish up the regular season on the road by paying a visit to Ann Arbor, MI to face off against the Michigan Wolverines at Yost Ice Arena. Friday’s game, starting at 5:30pm CT will be televised on ESPNNews, and Saturday’s 6pm CT start at Yost will be televised by BTN.
