Twenty one year old professional boxer, Mike Reed has made an important decision for a young fighter. He chose a promotional team to chart his future toward, what he hopes, are multiple world titles. He signed with Top Rank. The world famous company headed up by Bob Arum, has promoted world champions in several decades going back to Muhammad Ali, all the way up to Manny Pacquiao. Reed, 10-0, from Washington, DC, will continue to train in his home area. He said recently that he would not sign with a company that required him to relocate.
"I am delighted to sign with Top rank. They have been successful for a long time and have promoted the biggest names in boxing. I am excited to have the same opportunities as the legends that have come before me. Team Reed is looking forward to having a long, successful relationship with one of the most prestigious promotional companies in boxing", said Reed.
Arum has had some rocky relationships with boxers in the past. Mike Reed's father and trainer, Mike Pinson will no doubt keep a close eye on the future of his son. "We wanted to join a company that does a great job of moving their fighters and Top Rank is known for getting their fighters world championship opportunities. Many of their current fighters are world champions." Reed was an excellent amatuer fighter building up a 90-13 record. Award winning amateurs usually sign with a promoter as soon as their pro career begins. Pinsons offers, ".....our team set a goal that within our first ten fights, we wanted to make a statement. Michael fought some tough competition and proved that he is a fan-friendly fighter, with extremely fast hands and power. We will be staying busy in the years to come, so make sure to look out for Team Reed." Please subscribe and follow Team Reed as they hunt down those multiple world titles.
