Mike Magee's on fire as Player of the Week

Los Angeles Galaxy midfielder Mike Magee earned MLS Player of the Week honors after his electrifying performance on Sunday against the Chicago Fire. Magee scored his first career hat trick in a game, the second Galaxy player to accomplish it.
Back in September of 2008, Landon Donovan scored a hat trick against DC United that resulted in a 5-2 victory.

Magee scored in the 38th, 68th, and 74th minutes that gave his team a commanding 3-0. This is Magee's second Player of the Week honor since June 2011.

Now entering his 11th MLS season and his fifth season with the MLS Champion Galaxy, this is the third multi goal game of his young career. Having scored twice in the 3-0 route of the Vancouver Whitecaps FC back in September 2011. Magee had nine goals last season that included three goals scored in the playoffs.

With results like this early in the season, if the Chicago native keeps this pace, he may be well on his way for league MVP.
