Former Arkansas Gov. and conservative media darling Mike Huckabee is thinking about a run for the White House in 2016.
According to Fox News on Dec. 23, Huckabee told Fox's Sunday news program "Fox News Sunday" that there is a possibility that he may put his name into the hat of potential presidential contenders in 2016. He told a Fox News:
It would be, frankly, dishonest to say no.
Huckabee has suggested over the years that Washington and Wall Street are not on the side of average Americans, going as for as to call them the "axis of evil". He also has defended single mothers, saying that Americans do not value single, hard working mothers.
Fox News commentators have argued that Americans have embraced Democratic populist int he past, such recently as New Yorkers electing Bill de Blasio as mayor, as his campaign focused mainly on the widening income gap in New York City.
But even though Huckabee tends to have some progressive views, he still shares conservative principles. He told Fox News:
I don't want big government to determine what income equality looks like.
Huckabee is expected to make his decision after the 2014 mid-term elections.
