Joining a fly fishing club for a monthly meeting is a great way to learn something new and meet some great folks. You should check out the Tahoe Truckee Fly Fishers this Thursday as local area guide Mike Curtis will be highlighting Truckee River fishing on the Nevada side.
The Feb. 20 meeting will be held at the Truckee Donner Rec and Park building at 6 p.m. For those of you who are not familiar with the Tahoe Truckee Fly Fishers, TTFF is a non-profit sportsman group dedicated to promoting the sport of fly fishing and protecting the trout rich waters of the North Lake Tahoe area. Founded in 1984, TTFF is a club for all anglers who care about the places they fish and want to learn more about the art of fly fishing to improve their skills and techniques.
Club members enjoy everything from guided fishing events, summer BBQ’s, youth programs and fly fishing equipment rentals to a line up of fabulous guest speakers at monthly meetings. Other club activities include monthly outings to local or regional waters, conservation initiatives equipment raffles, fly tying classes/fly tying roundtable and rod-building classes.
